School of Traditional Okinawan/Japanese Martial Arts

The Hombu (World Headquarters) for Seiyo Shorin-Ryu Karate & Kobudo trains students in the spiritual aspects of karate & kobudo. This is what differentiates 'martial art' from mere street fighting. We work to improve your spirit while teaching philosophy & techniques of Okinawan karate & kobudo.

Classes in Traditional Karate
 
Few other Martial Arts Schools offer similar expertise or as wide of range of martial arts classes. Taught by Grandmaster (Soke) Hausel, 10th dan, member of 15 Halls of Fame & certified in 19 martial arts. Soke Hausel taught karate for 4 decades at 4 major universities & is a certified Kyoju (Professor of martial arts).
 

Traditional Jujutsu & Women's Self-Defense Classes & Clinics

 
Arizona can be a challanging place - we offer an alternative - walk with confidence after training in our jujutsu & self-defense classes. We will teach you to use your hands, feet, elbows, pens, pencils, cell phones for self-defense.  We are committed to making you the best martial artist possible.

Classes in Traditional Kobudo

On Okinawa, peasants learned to defend using farming & fishing tools. We will teach you the traditions of Okinawa Karate & how to defend using a variety of sticks, nunchuks, tonfa (batons), sai (forks) kama (sickles), eku (oar), tsue (cane) & more.
 
 
 
Samurai
 
Become a Samurai. Soke Hausel is a certified Samurai and offers classes in katana (sword), naginata (halberd), yari (spear), and more. 

Kids Classes
We teach respect, traditions & karate - no games. Your kids will develop self-respect & self-confidence.
